Riley Festival Schedule Overview

The Riley Festival runs from the first Thursday through Sunday each October, featuring craft booths, live performances, parades, and contests throughout downtown Greenfield. Key highlights include the Greenfield Banking Company Entertainment Tent, the Parade of Flowers, and the Saturday parade winding through the historic courthouse area.

Free parking available at Hancock County Fairgrounds. We offer a shuttle service for $1.00 donation to a local non-profit.

October 1-4, 2026

The Riley Festival schedule details daily events from Thursday through Sunday, highlighting times and locations for performances, craft displays, and community activities throughout downtown Greenfield.

Thursday (1st): Opening Ceremony at 5:30pm at the GBC Spotlight Stage, followed by Woomblies Rock Orchestra concert.  Gazebo entertainment: 5-9pm Joe Shelton-National Road Series


Friday (2nd): Booths open at 9am.  The Riley Flower Parade begins at 1pm ending at the statue of Riley at the Courthouse.  GBC Spotlight Stage: Billy and The Tall Boys (8-10pm); Gazebo Entertainment: Highwater Troubadors (5-6pm), Brandwine Wind Orchestra (7:30-9:00pm)


Saturday (3rd): Booths open at 9am.  Riley Festival Parade sponsored by Ninestar Connect begins at 11am.  Gazebo entertainment: Two Jasons (5:30-6:30pm); Serenade Jazz Orchestra (7:30-9:00pm)


Sunday (4th): Booths open at 11am.  Awards at 3pm on the GBC Spotlight Stage.  Festival closes at 5pm.

The Parade of Flowers begins each festival morning with elementary students from Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation marching through downtown. They carry fresh bouquets to place around the James Whitcomb Riley statue, honoring his legacy since 1918.
Saturday’s main parade features over 75 units traveling from the high school through downtown to Riley Park. The route showcases floats, bands, and community groups, starting mid-morning and drawing crowds along the streets.
